Hey everyone -

Finally got a moment to write a new post. Ulric is at home with his 'Grandparents,' and is doing great. Here is a picture at 4.5 months old. His most recent vet appointment he weighed in at I believe 53 lbs (his 5 month vet checkup).

Can't wait to meet my folks and see how he has grown!

Day 3 - New Collar, Padre Island

Went to Petco to get Ulric a new collar. Had him ride in the crate on the way there - he definitely does not like it...going to have to work on this.

Went out to Padre Island to get all of my stuff out of the place on Leeward Drive, and then visited the beach briefly. Ulric liked the sand, but still would rather stick close than explore drifted seaweed and wood. No complaining here though, it is nice he sticks so close.

Well so far so good - everything is as expected with a new pup. He is actually a lot better behaved than many dogs I have watched before that were his age.

He is already doing well on the leash - just basically wants to follow me around.

Thanks for all who posted comments on the Friends Forum. It is great to be part of such a nice group of people.

At Home

Ulric got in to San Antonio last night - was a little earlier than expected, but I was there early so it went well. He made a friend on the trip, a bulldog puppy named "Snoop."

He was pretty good on the ride home considering he had spent the whole day in the cargo bay of a plane - just passed-out on my lap.

He woke me up several times last night, but only because he already knows if he has to go, we have to go outside.

He's probably still a little stressed, so I'll wait a day or so to take him to get another collar - the one I bought was too small.

All for now...

...so, it all works out. I can go and pick up Ulric in the evening. Tina gave me all the info, so I am ready to go and very excited!

As soon as he is home and settled, I'll post some pictures. Well, better get to the gym for a little while
